Voxecutor
Part of project: Miscellaneous .
An arena-sized immersive VR game inspired by Pac-Man, where players race through a dangerous maze to collect points while avoiding and hunting deadly Voxecutors.
Voxecutor is an arena-sized 3D immersive VR game inspired by Pac-Man, designed specifically around physical interaction and the feeling of being inside the game. It can be played solo or with multiple players, with everyone sharing the same maze and competing for the highest score.
Players collect coins and larger bonuses scattered throughout the maze while trying to survive the increasingly dangerous Voxecutors. Four Voxecutors are present at the beginning of a game, with additional ones appearing as time passes. They can also leave black spiky mines behind them, making the maze progressively more hazardous.
Players are not completely defenseless. Four war axes are placed at the corners of the maze. Picking one up activates a 20-second HUNT mode, temporarily weakening the Voxecutors and allowing players to catch them for points. The weakened creatures become faster during this period, turning the hunt into a risky opportunity.
The game uses a shared pool of lives, starting with four lives per player. Players can be resurrected while lives remain in the pool, keeping everyone in the game even after being caught. Once the shared pool is exhausted, dead players return to the lobby, and the game ends when everyone has been eliminated.
In multiplayer, the first player to enter starts a 30-second countdown, giving others time to join. Once the game begins, everyone competes in the same maze, with the winner being the player who has collected the most points.
